Meagan + George | Parker Palm Springs

Filed in: Palm Springs

It is always such an honor when two incredible designers choose us to help design one of the most important days of their lives. These two are intelligent, witty, willing to think out of the box, and overall lovely people with a relationship that is truly special. When beginning their design process, we wanted to lean into the Parker’s funky, mid-century aesthetic while still catering to Meagan + George’s personal style–a little more modern and minimalist. Their color palate focused on blood orange, forest green, deep teal, peach tones, and rust. We loved their willingness to blend cool and warm tones to create an impact. One element that really helped transform their space were florals designed by Siren Floral Co. We focused on fall leaves, mums, garden roses, textural foliage, berry branches, dahlias.

Their ceremony was one of my favorite aspects of their day–neither of them rehearsed their vows and it just felt so authentic and true to their personalities as they shared jokes, favorite qualities about each other, and personal anecdotes. It was the opposite of a stiff or overly fussy ceremony and felt so refreshing and lighthearted yet meaningful. Siren designed a lush, growing Fall-inspired installation for the ceremony space that added an organic feel, contrasting with the sleek mid-century chairs we chose for guest seating.

George’s love for quality music was translated into cocktail hour in such a fun way–a trio of live musicians from DART played some of their favorite rap songs instrumentally and it brought such a unique artistic element to that moment of gathering with friends. Since they opted for a first look, they were able to join their guests in enjoying their signature cocktails, thoughtfully chosen lounge vignettes, and personalized musical ambiance. The cocktail hour featured whitewash, chevron bars and assorted furniture, bringing in their color palette and varying textures  such as metal, velvet, and wood. One of our favorite elements of design was the signage the bride and groom designed themselves! Their use of color, fonts, and overall composition brought an eccentric flair and distinct sense of personality.

Reception was the space where Megan and George made sure we left no detail or space untouched, and the result truly translated their vision. Tables were dressed in crisp white linens with a retro inspired circle pattern, mismatched with waffled, burnt orange napkins. Each guests’ place setting was equipped with black dipped gold flatware, sleek glassware and sage colored bread plates to counteract the warm tones and provide a more understated contrast to the bold hues. Florals and tangerine hued candles added punch of color to the tablescape in matte black vessels, providing texture and movement while maintaining a minimalist aesthetic.

The reception area also held space for a mid-century modern lounge complete with a vintage rug, woven chair, leather poufs and white retro couch topped with forest green and vibrant orange velvet pillows.

For their dessert table, we sourced a custom backdrop piece by Tiffany Lustag featuring arches, organic shapes, stripes and the full range of their color palette making a statement and serving as a main focal point of the reception space.

They brought in one of their talented friends to DJ reception, which brought yet another personalized element to the music portion of their wedding. The late night bites were one of the biggest hits as well as the photobooth, which never lacked a guest. Guests were able to take home matchboxes customized with song lyrics and the couple’s logo, which was a perfect departing gift for a destination wedding.

We love when a couple values design and the small details that create an overall vision as much as we do, so it was truly an honor to be a part of designing and bringing Megan + George’s vision to life. We will never stop adoring these two and being so honored they chose us for their wedding day!
