Carlie + Dillon | Klentner Ranch

Carlie + Dillon’s wedding day + planning process is one we will never forget. They both, along with Carlie’s parents, had such a fun and dynamic energy about them. They valued us and their other vendors so well, had impeccable taste, and a keen sense of personal style. We loved working to understand them better as a couple and aligning ourselves with Carlie’s vision.

Let’s start off with Klentner Ranch—one of our all time favorite venues! While Klentner wasn’t on the couple’s immediate list, upon arriving, it definitely felt like “the one”. As we began her design process, we knew our main goal was to style her wedding in a way that felt true to her in a special way. In order to do this, we sat down and looked over some of her favorite florists, inspiring interior designs, colors she was drawn to as well as some of her own photography and graphic design work. The mood board we created for her captured a sense of modern minimalism with eccentric, boho touches. We knew we wanted to use organic and textural materials to create a sense of soft, natural beauty juxtaposed by clean lines and refined tableware to add an air of modern simplicity. It was also important for us to infuse a sense of playfulness through lively florals and pops of muted warm colors throughout the space. The color palette we landed on incorporated beige and camel neutrals complemented by pops of mustard and muted peach tones. Our favorite piece of feedback we received from guests at this wedding was, “This is SO Carlie!”

One of my favorite moments of the day was their “first touch” where they prayed together before walking down the aisle. It was truly such a special moment that Whitney, their photographer, captured so well.

For Carlie + Dillon’s ceremony seating, we used a mix of natural wood benches and white, midcentury chairs. The intentional mismatched and asymmetrical placement added a bit of diversity to an area that can often otherwise feel very formulaic. The ceremony also featured letter board signage, a ground-up floral install and a trio of live musicians to entertain guests before “I do’s.”

We set up their cocktail hour with three comfy and stylish lounge spaces highlighting some of Carlie’s favorite interior accents- leather, velvet, faux fur, woven textiles and lots of color! We knew having a wide array of options for guests to chat, mingle and cozy up was a major priority considering this space would later transform into a lively after party- complete with carne asada fries, warm blankets and a funky, curated playlist.

The space where Carlie + Dillon’s design really came to life was the reception lawn. White chairs were paired with subtle peach linens and benches met their honey-washed wood table counterparts. Tablescapes were set with waffled, organic cotton mustard napkins, pink dipped gold flatware, modern glassware, matte eggshell plates, and menus, expertly designed by the bride herself. Delicate satellite arrangements featuring dried elements and beautiful blooms added movement and height variation. Guests enjoyed heartfelt toasts, sang and danced with their live band and indulged in delicious donuts before heading back up to the cocktail patio for the remainder of their evening.

Every moment of the day was meaningful and personalized to who the two of them were, and felt like such a special way to begin the marriage of two incredible souls.
