Kathleen + Brian stand out to us in every way—from their epic style, to the deep love they share, to their crew being truly so fun and enjoyable. Their wedding was one of the highlights of our 2021 and we knew right away that these two would be so much fun to plan for.

Kathleen’s family is deeply rooted in Hummingbird Nest Ranch’s history, she went to high school with our main catering contact, which also happens to be the school Camille’s partner teaches at now. She interconnected meaningful elements, people, and places all while highlighting their monochromatic and modern style to create a day that felt like them and was so truly filled with love that it was tangible. We adore these two, this was probably the most fun we’ve had at a wedding to date (thanks Second Song + K&B’s crew), and we think this one might just steal your heart too. Plus—the setting is 10/10.

With Kathleen and Brian’s design, we created a timeless-romantic aesthetic, tying in clean lines and neutral colors to emulate a modern design while still playing up the beauty of Hummingbird Nest Ranch. Their color palette focused primarily on soft ivory and taupes, complemented by shades of mossy green to offset the white florals and black as an accent color to provide a bit of edginess to the otherwise traditional color palette. In their floral design, we selected bloom-heavy, architectural arrangements that use clusters of florals, baby’s breath, and foliage to create modern shapes and utilize negative space. Personal touches like the ceremony boxes built by Kathleen’s dad, the neon sign Brian surprised Kathleen with, and dining tables named after the couples’ favorite places are what made the wedding day so memorable.
